The NFL's commitment to players' long-term health and well-being extends on and off of the field, for every player, through all stages of their career. In service of that goal, active and former players are offered a range of benefits and resources collectively bargained with the NFLPA. Additionally, through the NFL’s Total Wellness Program, as well as the NFL Player Care Foundation, active and former players are offered a number of programs to achieve physical and emotional wellness, including peer-to-peer assistance, monetary grants, and counseling services.
The NFL and NFLPA have made numerous improvements to Player Benefits through the collective bargaining process over the last 25 years. In March 2020, the NFL and NFLPA ratified a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, which provides substantial benefits to current and former Players.
